What is P-21

If you want to buy P-21, it is of course important to know what it is. P-21 is a modified, synthetic mimic of CNTF. CNTF is a naturally occurring protein mediator of neuronal growth in humans. The effects of CNTF have been studied primarily in the nervous system, although there are receptors for the peptide in other parts of the body (e.g. bones). It has been shown to promote neurotransmitter synthesis and neurite outgrowth. It also protects neurons and their supporting cells from inflammatory attacks. In addition to its neurotrophic effects, CNTF increases satiety and therefore reduces food intake.

CNTF and cerebrolysin are not the same molecule. Neither are P-21 and cerebrolysin. Below we discuss and compare P-21, CNTF  and cerebrolysin.

Effects of P-21

A recombined version of CNTF was developed under the brand name Axokine. It was tested as a treatment for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and is currently off sale. Interestingly, the body rapidly generates antibodies against Axokine, suggesting that there is potential for co-administering P21 and exogenous CNTF in certain situations, increasing CNTF levels while keeping antibody activity to a minimum.

Is it legal to buy P-21?

Yes, anyone over the age of 18 can buy P-21 because it is a research compound. Peptides are subject to various government rules and regulations. As a result, we are not permitted to present health claims or specify consumption methods. We supply P-21 freeze-dried, with the choice between a spray bottle or a glass ampoule.
